Our story

A land. A name.
A table.

Lupiae is the Latin name of Lecce — ancient city of Puglia, heel of Italy's boot. Everything we do begins here, among century-old olive groves and family kitchens.

The origin

Lupiae — the city that gave us our name

Lecce, once called Lupiae, is a baroque city in the heart of Puglia. It sits at the southernmost tip of the Italian peninsula, surrounded by endless olive groves, red earth, and a coastline of crystalline sea.

"In Puglia, food is not a product. It is memory, season, and family — compressed into a jar."

It is here that Luca Romano, born and raised in Puglia and founder of Lupiae Food, shaped both his palate and his philosophy—with one mission: to make these authentic, unhurried, handcrafted flavours accessible to anyone in the world who loves Italian cuisine.

How it started

From a Pugliese table to yours

I

The beginning

Puglia is our second home. Every visit reinforces our passion for its authentic products and inspired us to share them with others through something genuinely different.

II

The sourcing

We visited family-run producers across Salento and chose to partner only with those who share our commitment to quality.

III

The mission

Today, Lupiae Food connects selected family-run producers with customers across Switzerland, bringing authentic Puglian flavours to every table.

Our products

Artisanal know-how in every jar

Our range includes extra-virgin olive oils made from centuries-old olive trees, carefully baked crispy taralli, smooth sottoli, sun-dried tomatoes, preserved vegetables, and artisanal jams.

Every product is tasted and approved before joining our range. If it doesn't taste like something an Italian grandmother would be proud of, it doesn't go in.
